Local Government Co-financing Committee

The Local Government Co-financing Committee is a committee established within the Local Government Division to assess requests submitted by local government stakeholders for co-financing support when implementing projects funded through European Union programmes and other international funding mechanisms.

The Committee evaluates applications, determines eligibility, and allocates financial assistance to help councils meet the required co-financing contribution associated with approved projects. Through this mechanism, the Committee supports greater participation by local authorities in externally funded initiatives, enabling communities to benefit from investments in infrastructure, environmental sustainability, social inclusion, digital transformation, and other local development priorities.

Eligible applicants are the: Local and Regional Councils, Local Councils’ Association (AKL), Association of Local and Regional Councils Executive Secretaries (ANSEK), and Local Action Groups.
