Iż-Żebbuġ is located about 3.2 km away from Victoria (Raba), Gozo’s capital. Built on two plateaux – Ta’ Abram and iz-Zebbug, this village is considered to be one of the highest in Gozo. Iż-Żebbuġ is a word in Maltese meaning olive trees or their fruit.
 
 A wide panorama of practically the whole of Gozo, and sometimes even Sicily can be seen from the village of Iż-Żebbuġ . This hill is 3.5km long. Midway the narrow road abutting into the village square we find the parish church which joins the two sections known as Il-Ponta and ix-Xagħra l-Kbira. Il-Ponta is the highest point, 126 metres above sea levell. One see see practically the whole island from the hills of Abram and Iż-Żebbuġ.
