St Albert the Great College (Old Bakery Street)
St Albert the Great College forms part of the Maltese Dominican Province. It caters for boys from the age of 5 (Year 1) up to the age of 16 (Year 11). This provides a continuous educational experience within the Valletta community, rich in history, tradition, culture, the arts, etc. The College caters for around 400 students. The College is proud to be a part of the Valletta community not just through the good number of students from the area, but also by making the College amenities available to the local community after school hours.

The Dominican Order had decided to take over what was known as Flores College in 1948 and rename the college as St Albert the Great College. The building in Old Bakery Street, dated back to the time of the knights of St John. It was however severely damaged by enemy action during the second world war. This prompted the Order to build a completely new College on the site of what once was Scicluna's Bank (50 metres from the old college in Old Bakery Street corner with Old Theatre Street) which had also fell victim to enemy action. The present premises were opened to its students in 1961.
