  • Santa Lucija Bocci Club
The first Boċċi Club in Santa Luċija was inaugurated on the 4th September of 1982. The need for such a club was strongly felt mainly due to the fact that there was already an existing pitch where this game was played since the year 1975 when the Hon. Lorry Sant, at that time Minister for Public Works, had inaugurated this pitch.

Dr George Briffa was the first president of this Club and Mr Anthony Spiteri was appointed as Secretary. Mr Spiteri’s name will remain synonymous to the Santa Luċija Boċċi Club for his active role in the club where he was later appointed as President and then as Honorary President.

Today this club is administered by a very active committee and has a considerable number of members. It also offers a recreational facility to the many residents who frequent this club.

The Club is also affiliated with the ‘Federazzjoni tal-Klabbs tal-Boċċi’.  This affiliation took place in 1983, the same year the Club took part in the Second Division games.

The results for the subsequent years were these:
Champions in Fourth District Competition - 1986
Champions in Third Division - 1988
Champions in Third Division (reserves) - 1988
Champions in Third Division - 1993
Runners up in Third Division - 1997
Runners up Charity Cup - 1997
    Third Division - Season 1999
