Twinning

Twinning with L-Għarb /Gerano (signed at Għarb on 04-07-02). Gerano is a small locality found in the mountains nearly 45 mins away from the Italian Capital, Rome. Gerano is known as being the locality with the oldest Infiorata being organised in Italy. Apart from various educational, sports, commercial exchanges from which both locality residents have benefited this twinning transferred the culture of the Infiorata which is organised during the L-Għarb feast.
 
 The Infiorata in L-Għarb is the first one which has been organised in the Maltese islands and is today in the culture calendar of our country. The Infiorata was organised in L-Għarb for the first time in 2003.
Apart from this twinning the Council has other co-operation agreements with various European localities amongst others:
 Castrolibero, Massafra, Comunita’ Collinare Colli Tortonesi (Italy) and Torrent in Spain.
